Sacramento County anchors California’s Central Valley, where the Sacramento and American rivers meet. Sacramento — the state capital and county seat — is the largest city and the region’s medical hub, home to UC Davis Medical Center, Sutter Medical Center, Mercy General Hospital, and Kaiser Permanente. Most senior care clusters in the city and its established suburbs: Elk Grove, the county’s second-largest city to the south, and the northeast communities of Carmichael — home to Mercy San Juan Medical Center — Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, and Orangevale. Folsom, to the east near Folsom Lake, has its own Mercy Hospital of Folsom.
